How to choose the right chandelier for your room
Start with the ceiling. A standard 2.4m UK ceiling holds a flush or semi-flush chandelier comfortably, but anything over 60cm drop usually needs a 2.7m+ space to clear heads at the dining table. Our Imperial Crystal sits at 80cm hanging — built for stairwells and double-height entries — while the Stylish Fabric Chandelier is designed flush enough to clear a standard bedroom.
Then the light itself. Crystal chandeliers diffuse warm LED through cut glass and throw refraction across walls — ideal for ambient evenings. LED bars like the Bordeaux give clean uniform task lighting for kitchen islands. Bubble-glass pieces like London Loft sit somewhere between — sculpted enough to read as art, soft enough to live with daily.
Best in: high-ceiling living rooms, formal dining spaces, stairwells, entryways, and statement bedrooms. Most models hardwire to an existing pendant box, accept dimmable E14 LED bulbs, and ship with adjustable hanging chains for sloped or vaulted ceilings.
