How to choose a table lamp for a bedside, console, or desk
Start with height. A bedside lamp sits 30-50cm above the mattress when on a nightstand — too tall and the bulb glares directly at eye level when you sit up. Our Tatami Japanese and Rattan Bedside both land around 35-40cm; the Atollo is taller at 70cm, designed for sideboards or consoles rather than nightstands.
Then the light. Warm white (2700-3000K) suits bedrooms and living-room consoles — softer, closer to candlelight. Neutral white (4000K) is better for desks and reading. Most accept E27 dimmable bulbs; the cordless and LED-integrated models like the Auroraglo are rechargeable, useful on dining tables or outside on a summer evening.
Best in: nightstands (low bedside lamps, soft warm LED), living room consoles and sideboards (statement pieces like Atollo or Matrix globes), desks and home offices (task lamps with neutral white), dining tables (cordless rechargeable), and softly-lit corners where you want a pool of light rather than overhead glare.
